Im Seminar werden aktuelle rechtssoziologische Texte aus rechtssoziologischen Zeitschriften (z.B. Zeitschrift für Rechtssoziologie, Journal of Law and Society, Law and Society Review) gelesen. Die Auswahl erfolgt in den ersten Sitzungen gemeinsam mit den Teilnehmern. Die Studierenden erhalten dadurch einen unmittelbaren Zugang zu laufenden Forschungsdebatten.

The binding module descriptions contain further information, including specifications on the "types of assignments" students need to complete. In cases where a module description mentions more than one kind of assignment, the respective member of the teaching staff will decide which task(s) they assign the students.
Die Lektüre aller Texte ist durch sechs kurze schriftliche Exzerpte nachzuweisen, die jeweils am Tag vor den entsprechend gekennzeichneten Sitzungen im Lernraum abzulegen sind.
Für die Modulprüfung im Modul "Rechts- und Regulierungssoziologie" ist eine Hausarbeit erforderlich. Hausarbeiten müssen spätestens am 31.März 2017 (eine Woche vor Beginn des Wintersemesters) in elektronischer Form und als Ausdruck abgegeben werden.
Hausarbeiten können auch während des Semesters geschrieben und im Seminar vorgestellt werden. Dadurch entfällt die "Nachbereitung" des Seminars in den Sommerferien. Vorschläge werden ggf. in der ersten Sitzung diskutiert. Bei Interesse ist Kontaktaufnahme vor Semesterbeginn empfehlenswert.
