230180 Rock- und Popsongs als Literatur (S) (WiSe 2026/2027)

Die Lyrik, die den höchsten Bekanntheitsgrad hat, stammt nicht von Goethe oder von Rilke, sie ist gesungener Text. Das war schon beim Kirchen- und später beim (romantischen) Kunstlied so. Heute sind es die Texte der Songs von Popstars und Bands, von Stars und Sternchen, sie laufen im Radio, auf Spotify, manchmal noch (sehr old school) auf CD oder, bei den Liebhaberinnen und Liebhabern ungeschlagen, auf Vinyl. Man könnte die These wagen, dass diese Lyrik ganz alltäglich ist, ganz selbstverständlich rezipiert wird - beim Putzen oder auf Parties, im Club oder im Auto. Rock- und Popsongs sind überall (Werbung!). Sie werden gern auf ihre muskalische Qualität hin wahrgenommen und bewertet, selten oder fast nie gründlich daraufhin angeschaut, WAS da als Text gesungen wird.
Das soll im Seminar geschehen: Welche Texte haben populäre gegenwärtige Lieder, was kann man zu ihnen unter textuell-literaturwissenschaftlichen Aspekten sagen? Große Kunst oder gereimter Nonsens? Der Schwerpunkt wird, aus Gründen der Sprachbeherrschung, auf deutschen Rock und Popsongs liegen, Seitenschritte ins Englische sind möglich. Die Auswahl treffen wir zusammen, es wird KEIN Seminar für eingefleischte Swifties oder Lindenberg-Fans - mehr als ein oder zwei Lieder pro Band werden nicht möglich sein.

Requirements for participation, required level

Grundkenntnisse der Lyrikanalyse (es ist keine Einführung!)
Bereitschaft, sich auch jenseits von Fan-Vorlieben auf Texte einzulassen
