Das Seminar dient der Vorbereitung einer Bachelor- bzw. Masterarbeit. Thematisch ist die Veranstaltung an das teutolab Mathematik angebunden. Das Schülerlabor lädt Kinder der Klassen 4 bis 6 an einem Vormittag ein, an verschiedenen Experimentierstationen mathematische Problemstellungen selbst zu erkunden.
Im Rahmen der Bachelor- bzw. Masterarbeit sollen im teutolab kleinere Erkundungsprojekte durchgeführt, dokumentiert und analysiert werden. Es werden Fragestellungen hierzu vorgeschlagen, es können aber auch eigene Ideen bzw. Themenvorschläge zur Vorbesprechung mitgebracht werden. Im Seminar werden die notwendigen theoretischen Grundlagen erarbeitet und die eigenen empirischen Studien geplant.
