This course will study major plays in text and film of twentieth ant twenty-first century U.S. American drama. Among the authors to be read and discussed will be Eugene O’Neill, Arthur Miller, Tennessee Williams, Edward Albee, Lorraine Hansberry, David H. Hwang, and Guillermo Verdecchia. Our theoretical framework resorts to categories such as performativity, race, gender, and ethnicity.
