220059 Herrschaft und Staatlichkeit in Europa in der Frühen Neuzeit (V+Ü) (SoSe 2026)

Das Seminar untersucht Herrschaftsformen und Prozesse der Staatlichkeitsbildung in Europa zwischen ca. 1500 und 1800. Im Zentrum stehen zentrale Forschungsdebatten wie Staatsbildung, Konfessionalisierung und Absolutismus sowie vergleichende Perspektiven auf monarchische und republikanische Ordnungen in West- und Osteuropa. Anhand ausgewählter Fallbeispiele (u. a. Frankreich, England, Altes Reich, Niederlande, Polen-Litauen) werden Strukturen, Praktiken und Deutungen frühneuzeitlicher Herrschaft analysiert. Ziel ist es, zentrale Begriffe und Modelle kritisch zu reflektieren und die Vielfalt politischer Ordnungen der Frühen Neuzeit vergleichend einzuordnen.
