Die Veranstaltung dient zum Erwerb von Tier- und Pflanzenkenntnissen der Region Nationalpark Wattenmeer. Dabei richtet sich die Veranstaltung vornehmlich an Bachelor-Studierende der Biologie, die ihr zukünftiges Berufsfeld in der Schule sehen. Vermittelt werden dabei auf kleinen Exkursionen Kenntnisse zum Watt, zu den Seegraswiesen und zu Vögeln der Küstenregion. Im Labor des Nationalparkhauses wird ein Projekttag zum Thema Plastikmüll und zu Experimenten des Watts und seiner Bewohner vorgestellt sowie Bestimmungsübungen zu Algen des Watts angeboten.
Die Präsenzzeit ist unterteilt in eine Übung inkl. Exkursion im Nationalpark Wattenmeer und eine Seminareinheit in Bielefeld.
