Dieses Seminar gibt eine Einführung in den Gebrauch der Videokamera in der empirischen Sozialforschung. Es widmet sich zum einen der praktischen Einübung des Umgangs mit der Kamera: Wie verwendet man eine Kamera im Feld? Was für ein Instrument ist die Kamera und welche Art von Daten erzeugt man damit? Darüber hinaus beschäftigen wir uns mit der Frage, wie man solches Datenmaterial aufbereitet und wie man es interpretieren kann. Das Seminar dient schließlich auch der methodologischen Reflexion über die Art der Datenkonstitution und der Relation von Forscher und Feld.
Die Studierenden werden sich in kleinen Gruppen Felder erschließen und mit der Kamera ins Feld begeben. Dieses Datenmaterial wird in der Lehrveranstaltung analysiert und reflektiert.
