Moral psychology, as a philosophical discipline, is concerned with understanding the relationship between human agency and moral value, virtue, and responsibility. We will discuss questions like the following: What does it take to be morally responsible? How do conditions like psychopathy and addiction affect moral responsibility? Can humans, given what we know about human psychology, be virtuous? What kind of motivation is required for praiseworthy action? What kind of motivation is required for blameworthy action?
