220148 Geschichte des Kapitalismus (GSH+GST) (WiSe 2015/2016)

"Ein Geist geht um in der Geschichtswissenschaft. Der Geist des Kapitalismus."
Im Gefolge der Globalen Finanzkrise stellt sich auch vermehrt die Frage über die historischen Ursprünge, Entwicklung und Funktionsweise des Kapitalismus. Welche Akteure prägten seine Ausformung? In welchem Zusammenhang stehen 'Moderne' und 'Kapitalismus'. Ist der Kapitalismus (zunächst) als ein westliches Phänomen zu verstehen? Welche Beziehung besteht zwischen 'Demokratie' und 'Kapitalismus'? Anhand dieser und anderer Fragen soll die Entwicklung der verschiedenen Kapitalismen diskutiert und analysiert werden.
