The focus group method allows to address a specific topic with a group of people formed based on their similar experiences. Instead of interviewing a single individual, this method aims to guide participants in discussing together. In what situations can this method prove more fruitful than individual interviews?
In this seminar, we will examine different types of focus groups through a critical lens, drawing on existing literature and studies. We will then put this method into practice, analyse the interviews, and discuss the results. In this process, we will consider power dynamics, the situatedness of the interviews, and the potential formation of opinions or norms.

The binding module descriptions contain further information, including specifications on the "types of assignments" students need to complete. In cases where a module description mentions more than one kind of assignment, the respective member of the teaching staff will decide which task(s) they assign the students.
