Ästhetische Vorlieben und Praktiken sind mit Sozialisationsbedingungen verknüpft und verweisen so auf soziokulturelle Entwicklungen, die wiederum mit sozialen und politischen Problemlagen sowie mit technischen Entwicklungen in Verbindung stehen. In der jeweils zeitgenössischen Kunst werden diese Wechselwirkungsprozesse aufgegriffen und erkundet, aber auch mitgestaltet.
Im Seminar wird alltagsästhetischen Phänomenen, die Kinder und Jugendliche in ihrer Sozialisation begleiten, sowie Vorlieben und Praktiken, die in diesem Zusammenhang entstehen können, nachgegangen und Bezüge zu aktuellen gesellschaftlichen und künstlerischen Entwicklungen hergestellt. Überlegt werden kann so, im Kontext welcher Fragestellungen und Praktiken in kunstpädagogischen Kontexten an ästhetische Präferenzen von Schüler*innen angeknüpft werden kann, um Schüler*innen zum einen in ihren gestalterischen und künstlerischen Ausdrucksmöglichkeiten sowie kritischen Reflexionen zu unterstützen und zum anderen die gesellschaftliche Relevanz künstlerischen Arbeitens für sie erkennbar werden zu lassen.
