Kommentar
Die Ringvorlesung eröffnet Einblicke in zentrale Ereignisse, Entwicklungen und Probleme der
Moderne. Durch den wöchentlichen Wechsel der Vortragenden soll eine repräsentative
Auswahl von Perspektiven auf die Geschichte der letzten 200 Jahre vorgestellt werden.
Sowohl die Vorlesung im Ganzen als auch die einzelnen Vorlesungssitzungen werden der
Frage, wie sich der Begriff der Moderne auf angemessene Weise fassen lässt, besondere
Aufmerksamkeit widmen.
Die Vorlesung wird in der Mitte und am Ende des Semesters von zwei praktischen Übungen
begleitet, die den regelmäßigen Besuch der Vorlesung voraussetzen. Die Studierenden
erhalten jeweils zu zwei zufälligen Sitzungen Aufgaben, von denen eine in einem kurzen Text
von ca. 2 Seiten zu beantworten ist.
