Diese Pflichtvorlesung führt in die Alte Geschichte ein. In ihrer ersten Hälfte, die mit einer Klausur abschließt, werden die Epochen der Alten Geschichte im Überblick vorgestellt (archaisches Griechenland, Griechenland in klassischer Zeit, Hellenismus, römische Republik, römische Kaiserzeit und Spätantike). Die zweite Hälfte der Vorlesung beschäftigt sich mit einem speziellerem Themenkomplex, der zu Beginn der VL bekannt gegeben wird Sie bereitet auf die Hausarbeit, eine Quelleninterpretation, vor.
