Der spätantike Autor Maximian (6. Jh.) schrieb ein elegisches Werk nach ovidischem Vorbild - sprachlich ist der Zeitpunkt des Verfassens überhaupt nicht zu erkennen. Wir wollen uns im Seminar mit diesem Autor eingehend befassen, seine Eigenheiten, seinen Charakter herausarbeiten und immer wieder auch einen Blick auf die klassischen Elegiker (Properz, Tibull, Ovid) werfen, um Maximians Verbundenheit zu dieser Tradition, aber auch seine Innovation aufzuzeigen.
