In this seminar we will attempt to get an overview of the main forms of verse literature in English, from "popular" forms like the limerick and the villanelle and ballad to the Lamborghini among poetic forms, the sonnet, and to modern free verse.
There is to be some attention to speaking or performing poems (many of which were originally meant to be spoken aloud). The main objective of the seminar, however, is to read and discuss the most famous, popular and influential poems written in the English language.
