Introduction to International Studies in Educational Science offers a comprehensive entry point into the comparative and cross-cultural analysis of educational systems, policies, and practices. This course serves as a foundational exploration of how edu-cation is shaped by global trends, cultural contexts, political structures, and economic realities.
Through a multidisciplinary lens, we will engage with key themes such as globalization and its impact on education, the role of international organizations (e.g., UNESCO, OECD, World Bank), educational equity and access across regions, and the transfer of educational policies and practices across borders. Special attention will be given to how different societies conceptualize learning, teaching, and schooling, and how these ideas translate into diverse educational outcomes.
This course develops critical analytical skills but also fosters intercultural awareness and global citizenship. Students will be encouraged to reflect on their own educational experiences and consider the broader implications of educational reform and innova-tion worldwide.
