Was ist Kreativität? In unserem Seminar wollen wir philosophische Theorien diskutieren, die auf diese Frage eine systematische Antwort geben. Dabei ist keinesfalls ausgemacht, dass es einen und nicht vielleicht viele systematisch variierende Begriffe von Kreativität und damit viele verschiedene legitime Antworten auf unsere Grundfrage gibt.

Das ist ein herausforderndes Projekt. Erstens haben wir beharrliche Alltagsintuitionen über ‚kreativ‘ und ‚Kreativität‘, die einer theoretischen Betrachtung im Weg stehen kann – unter anderem deswegen, weil es sich bei ‚kreativ‘ um ein positiv bewertendes Adjektiv handelt. Zweitens können ganz verschiedene Dinge als kreativ klassifiziert werden, nämlich zumindest Personen, Prozesse und Produkte – und es ist keineswegs ausgemacht, dass wir hier einheitliche Standards verwenden. Und drittens ist ‚kreativ‘ ein gradierbarer Begriff, und das bringt alle Herausforderungen für Begriffe dieser Art mit sich.

Unser Seminar zielt auf ein theoretisches und generelles Verständnis des Phänomens Kreativität. Uns geht es nicht darum, spezifische Herangehensweise oder Produkte zu bewerten, den Wert von Kreativität zu erkunden oder Kreativität zu befördern. Unsere Debatte wird dabei generell sein. Wertfragen, Kunst, Ästhetik oder Pädagogik werden keine Rolle spielen. Im Vordergrund werden gegenwärtige analytische Texte zum Thema stehen.
