Der Beitrag der Soziologie für das Vestehen sozialisatorischer Prozesse bzw. pädagogisch-bildnerischer Realitäten ist kaum zu überschätzen, ebenso für die Erziehungswissenschaft als Disziplin insgesamt.

Im Seminar werden soziologische Klassiker und neuere Forschungslinien der Soziologie für die Lebensphasen Kindheit und Jugend behandelt. Darin werden soziologische Grundfragen diskutiert. Zugleich wird die historische wie systematische Bedeutung dieser soziologischen Impulse für eine erziehungswissenschaftliche Perspektive reflektiert, die die gesellschaftlichen Bedingungen des Auswachsens bzw. im Lebens(ver)lauf verstehen möchte.
