In this seminar, we are going to investigate the construction of motherhood as a concept and its impact on women's lived realities from different academic perspectives. We are going to read academic texts from different disciplines - e.g., gender studies, sociology, social and cultural studies, etc. - to investigate the ways in which cultural discourses shape hegemonic and/or potentially subversive ideas of motherhood.
