Die Forderung nach ‚Kontextualisierung‘ ist in öffentlichen Diskursen zunehmend politisch aufgeladen: Wo Rufe nach ‚Kontextualisierung‘ laut werden, steht schnell der Verdacht der Relativierung des Kontextualisierten im Raum. Das Seminar lädt dazu ein, einen Schritt von aktuellen Debatten zurückzutreten, indem es 1. über mögliche Definitionen von ‚Text‘ und ‚Kontext‘ informiert und 2. das komplexe Verhältnis zwischen ‚Text‘ und ‚Kontext‘ auslotet.
Gegenstand der Seminardiskussion sind literatur- und kulturwissenschaftliche Text- und Kontexttheorien des 20. und 21. Jahrhunderts. Lektüren in deutscher und englischer Sprache.
