Anhand der Verarbeitung von Schriftsprache und Schriftsprachstörungen werden Methoden und Modelle der Neurolinguistik vorgestellt. Dabei werden neben der neurotypischen Verarbeitung bei sprachgesunden Erwachsenen erworbene Störungen des Lesens und Schreibens näher beleuchtet (bei Aphasie, semantischer Demenz). Forschungsfragen und funktionale Modelle der Leseforschung werden anhand aktueller Studien erarbeitet.
