Ziel des Colloquium Latinum ist es, aktive Sprachkompetenz im Lateinischen zu trainieren. Jeder Sitzung ist ein Schwerpunktthema zugeordnet. Vorbereitend zu jeder Sitzung lernen die TeilnehmerInnen zentrale Wörter, die sie im Verlauf der Veranstaltung aktiv verwenden. Zudem wird in jeder Sitzung die praktische Anwendung zentraler Kapitel der lateinischen Grammatik geübt (z.B. AcI, PC, Abl.abs.).

Die Veranstaltung baut auf den Kenntnissen der Veranstaltungen Deutsch-Lateinisch I und II auf.
