Das Ziel der Klassifikationsanalyse, Daten in möglichst homogene Gruppen
zusammenzufassen, wird in vielen Wissenschafts- und Nichtwissenschaftsbereichen
(Marketing) verfolgt. Der Einsatz der entsprechenden Techniken hat in den
letzten zehn Jahren -- besonders in den Sozialwissenschaften -- erheblich
zugenommen. In diesem Seminar werden wir uns daher mit der systematischen
Zusammenfassung von Klassifikationsobjekten in homogene Gruppen (Typen, Cluster,
Klassen) beschäftigen. Als Klassifikationsobjekte werden wir hier vorwiegend
Personen behandeln. Die drei grundlegenden Verfahrensgruppen der
unvollständigen, deterministischen und probablisitischen Clusteranalyseverfahren
werden behandelt. Erlernt werden sollen die Techniken mit Softwareanwendungen
anhand von praktischen Beispielen aus frei verfügbaren Datensätzen. Zur
Anwendung kommt das Programmpaket R.
