Im Mittelpunkt der Veranstaltung steht das Verhältnis von Medien(-entwicklung) und Subjektkonstitution. Dabei soll einerseits der Frage nachgegangen werden, wie in unterschiedlichen Forschungstraditionen (insb. Sozialisationsforschung, Kritische Theorie, Systemtheorie & Praxistheorie) das Verhältnis von Medien und Subjekten konzipiert wird. Andererseits geht es auch um die Frage, wie sich dieses im Zuge medialer Evolution vom Buchdruck über die Massenmedien hin zu den sog. Neuen Medien verändert. Ziel der Veranstaltung ist es, die Grundannahmen und Problembezüge der behandelten Theorien verstehen und vergleichen zu können, um darauf aufbauend in der Lage zu sein, eigenständige und theoretisch begründete mediensoziologische Fragestellungen zum Verhältnis von Medien und Subjektkonstitution zu entwickeln und zu bearbeiten.
