392251 Project: De-identifying Telegram, Signal and TikTok data for safe and ethical research (Pj) (SoSe 2025)

Contents, comment

Did you know that research can benefit greatly from social media data, without compromising user privacy? In this project, you will contribute to making that possible. We have built a data donation platform that allows people to de-identify and donate their messaging data from WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram. Your task will be to extend this platform to include additional sources, such as Telegram, Signal and TikTok. You will explore the data export option on these platforms, analyze their data structures and adapt our existing code to de-identify data from these platforms.

Requirements for participation, required level
