402243 MPH 25: Gesundheitsverhalten und Gesundheitsbildung - Vertiefung (S) Study Requirements in English (S) (SoSe 2025)

Contents, comment

In this seminar, you will deepen your knowledge and skills in the theory- and evidence-based development of prevention and health promotion interventions. You will analyse relevant studies, paying particular attention to their theoretical basis. You will work in small groups to produce a systematic review of the determinants or effectiveness of interventions for a health behaviour in a specific target group. This involves a highly collaborative, independent research process within and between the small groups.

The aim is to familiarise yourself with the steps of a systematic review and work through them independently. In addition, you will deepen your understanding of theory-led intervention development. You will strengthen your English language skills, as the research is carried out in international databases and usually involves working with English-language articles. Coursework and examinations can be completed in English. However, the course language is German, possibly with individual English-language sections.

You are expected to organise and document the work process independently. The course work therefore includes regular short reports of the working groups and a short summary of the results.
The examination (seminar paper) is taken as an individual assignment.
