"Dietrich Bonhoeffer - Theologe Christ Zeitgenosse" - unter diesem Titel veröffentlichte Eberhard Bethge 1966 als guter Freund und jahrelanger theologischer Wegbegleiter Bonhoeffers als Erster ein deutschsprachiges biografisches Gesamtwerk über diese mittlerweile weit über die Landesgrenzen bekannte und wertgeschätzte Persönlichkeit.
Anliegen dieses Seminars ist es, Dietrich Bonhoeffer - an eben jene Titelformulierung Bethges angelehnt - näher kennenzulernen: Neben einer "Einbettung" seiner theologischen Gedanken in den zeit- und gesellschaftshistorischen Kontext soll versucht werden, insbesondere auch diejenigen Hintergründe aufzuzeigen, die Bonhoeffer bis heute (auch über den christlichen Rahmen hinaus) als "Zeitgenossen" erscheinen lassen.
