Der Trickster ist eine Figur der Unberechbarkeit: er handelt aus nicht nachvollziehbaren Gründen, er schadet anderen wie auch sich selbst, ohne daraus zu lernen oder mit der Zeit vernünftig zu werden. Er kennt kein Innen und Außen, der Körper ist nicht an den Geist gebunden, sondern handelt eigenständig, bisweilen auch nur eines der Glieder. Im Seminar wird geprüft, ob polymorphe Gestalten wie Eulenspiegel, Amis, Gonella und der junge Simplicissimus der Figur des Tricksters zugerechnet werden können oder ob sie vielleicht nicht doch zweckhaft handeln und daher für andere (nicht für alle) berechenbar sind.
