Das Seminar führt anhand der vergleichenden Diskussion um die Entwicklung und Bedeutung von Zivilgesellschaft und sozialen Bewegungen in Afrika und Lateinamerika in einen wichtigen Aspekt der aktuellen Entwicklungszusammenarbeit ein.
Ausgehend von den unterschiedlichen Konzepten und Definitionen von Zivilgesellschaft und sozialer Bewegung, wird anhand von Fallbeispielen aus Afrika und Lateinamerika folgenden Fragen nachgegangen:
Welche Rolle spielen Zivilgesellschaft bzw. soziale Bewegungen in der Gestaltung der nationalen Politik? Welche Bedeutung kann Ihnen für eine (nachhaltige) Entwicklung und Armutsreduzierung zugeschrieben werden? Welche Unterschiede und Gemeinsamkeiten gibt es zwischen den Fallbeispielen hinsichtlich der Entfaltungsmöglichkeiten von sozialen Bewegungen und ihrer Rolle im Entwicklungsprozess?
