The aim of this seminar is to critically examine the subjects of globalization and transnationalization from a sociological perspective. The chosen topics are very wide in scope to cover only in one semester, therefore this seminar aims to give students grounding in the most fundamental aspects of globalization, transnationalization and world society, with exploration of selected substantive topics to help root the general issues in particular ways. We will examine the major economic, political, ideological dimensions of globalization and transnationalization processes with the central themes of social networks, poverty, inequality, and migration.
