220137 Sound History, Oral History. Ton und Mündlichkeit in der Geschichtswissenschaft (GST) (WiSe 2024/2025)

Hörquellen spielen in der Geschichtswissenschaft eine untergeordnete Rolle; im Zentrum von Forschung und Lehre stehen meist Schrift- oder Bildquellen. Wir fragen in der Übung, warum das so ist, welches Potenzial Hörquellen für die Geschichtswissenschaft haben und wie wir uns methodisch-theoretisch reflektiert Ton und Mündlichkeit annähern können. Wir beschäfti-gen uns mit Demonstrationsrufen („Wir sind das Volk“), mit Musik als Machtinstrument, Ge-genstimme oder Unterhaltungsmedium, aber auch und besonders mit der Bedeutung mündli-cher Zeugenschaft nach dem Holocaust.
Die Veranstaltung führt in Sound History und Oral History als neuere Zugänge der Zeitge-schichte ein und sensibilisiert für die Arbeit mit Hörquellen: Wie ändert sich unsere Perspekti-ve auf Geschichte, wenn wir sie hörend erschließen?
