230036 Esperando al próximo capítulo: cultura televisiva en América Latina (S) (SoSe 2014)

La cultura latinoamericana contemporánea es en gran medida audiovisual. Aunque el cine y los medios digitales sean importantes, fue la televisión que provocó el impacto más fuerte al transformar la población en público televisivo. El propósito del seminario es discutir la ruptura cultural que la televisión produjo en el siglo XX en América Latina. La idea fundamental es que en este subcontinente, la televisión no desplazó a una amplia cultura letrada anterior sino que fue la debilidad estructural del libro que permitió y sigue permitiendo la enorme expansión de la televisión. En realidad, el subdesarrollo del libro posibilitó el superdesarrollo de la televisión. Si la ausencia social del libro condiciona la omnipresencia televisiva, la propia modernidad asume rasgos televisivos en Latinoamérica. El resultado es una cultura ampliamente televisiva que el seminario discutirá en algunas series televisivas ejemplares. Por muchos motivos, la serie es el género televisivo por excelencia. En primer lugar están las telenovelas que constituyen la base del medio televisivo latinoamericano desde hace medio siglo. Pero el seminario también analizará nuevas tendencias televisivas como las series consideradas de cualidad.
