Im pädagogischen Kontext ist Kunstrezeption immer ein aktives Geschehen, in dem produktive und reflexive Phasen ineinander greifen und in einen lebendigen Dialog münden. Neben der Erschließung kunstwissenschaftlicher Hilfsmittel geht es deshalb in diesem Seminar um Strategien künstlerischer Befragung sowie um den Sinn, den Bilder für die eigene Lebens- und Erfahrungswelt stiften können.

Methodisch vielfältig machen wir uns mit historischen und aktuellen Ansätzen kunstwissenschaftlicher Werkanalyse vertraut. Geübt wird die Befragung ausgewählter Bildwerke älterer und neuerer Kunst vor dem Hintergrund entscheidender Paradigmenwechsel.
Neben grundlegenden Fachbegriffen werden zunächst stilistische Merkmale kunstgeschichtlicher Epochen erarbeitet. Vor Originalen in der Kunsthalle Bielefeld und ggf. weiteren Museen werden die erlernten Techniken an Werken der Klassischen Moderne erprobt.
