220207 Der Akt (S) (WiSe 2023/2024)

In diesem Seminar beschäftigen wir uns sowohl mit der Geschichte des Nackten in der Kunst und visuellen Kultur der Vormoderne als auch mit dessen unzähligen hierarchisierten Erscheinungsformen als hochgeschätzter künstlerischer (Männer-)Akt, als schlecht beleumundete Pornografie usw. Dazu lesen wir kanonische Texte der Kunsttheorie und Akt-Literatur (u.a. Kenneth Clark, John Berger, Linda Williams) und konfrontieren sie u.a. mit Fragen nach Gender, Ethnisierung, Scham, Klasse, Zensur und Blickverboten. Über Textstudien und Werkanalysen werden wir diesen Fragen anhand von Zeichnungen, Gemälden und Skulpturen von u.a. Michelangelo, Parmigianino, Caravaggio nachgehen.
