In diesem Seminar sollen die erziehungswissenschaftlichen (Kinder- und Kindheitsforschung) und pädagogischen (individual- und sozialpädagogischen) Beiträge des jüdisch-polnischen Schriftstellers, Kinderarztes und Pädagogen Janusz Korczak (1878 – 1942) vor dem Hintergrund zeitgenössischer reformpädagogischer Bewegungen dargestellt werden. In den Fokus unserer Bemühungen sollen die Übereinstimmungen, aber auch die Abgrenzungen (in Theorie und Praxis!) zu folgenden pädagogischen Konzepten gerückt werden: M. Montessori ("Casa dei Bambini"), A. S. Makarenko ("Gorki-Kolonie"), S. Bernfeld ("Kinderheim Baumgarten" und "Sisyphus oder die Grenzen der Erziehung"), A. Aichhorn ("Verwahrloste Jugend"), Kibbuz-Erziehung (radikale Kollektiverziehung) und M. Buber (Erziehung als Dialog).

Vorkenntnisse in Historischer Pädagogik (insbesondere "Reformpädagogik") erwünscht, aber nicht zwingend erforderlich.
