231008 Kontextfreie Grammatiken / Formale Methoden 3 (S) (SoSe 2014)

Der formale Typ der "Phrasenstrukturgrammatik" erlaubt in einfacher Weise eine Unterscheidung vier verschiedener Untertypen, mit deren Hilfe eine aufsteigende Hierarchie von Sprachklassen etablierbar ist: regulär - kontextfrei - kontextsensitiv - rekursiv aufzählbar.

Kontextfreie Grammatiken erlauben in Teilen eine durchaus beschreibungsadäquat erscheinende formalsprachliche Annährung an syntaktische Strukturen, wie sie in natürlicher Sprache auftreten. Als ein entsprechendes Beschreibungswerkzeug und formales Modell der maschinellen Verarbeitung stehen kontextfreie Grammatiken im Blickpunkt des Seminars.
