Gesellschafts- und subjekttheoretische Ansätze der Kritischen Theorie, die aus den Arbeiten des Frankfurter Instituts für Sozialforschung entstanden, waren prägend für viele gesellschaftswissenschaftliche Forschungszweige. Im Rahmen dieses Seminars werden wir gezielt jene Forschungen nachverfolgen, die den Ausgangspunkt ihrer Analysen in den Arbeiten der „Frankfurter Schule“ fanden und dann über die geschlechterkritische Weiterentwicklung zu einer eigenen Richtung der Geschlechterforschung ausgearbeitet wurden.
Im Seminarverlauf werden wir uns mit Publikationen von Regina Becker-Schmidt und Gudrun-Axeli Knapp befassen, um jenes greifbar zu machen, was später gemeinhin als „Hannoverscher Ansatz“ bekannt wurde. Die Abgrenzung dieses Forschungsansatzes zu anderen Zweigen der Geschlechterforschung wird als sekundäres Ziel des Seminars dienen – um eine Vorstellung von der Heterogenität dieses Forschungsfeldes zu entwickeln.
