Das Seminar führt in das Verfahren der Sequenzanalyse mit seiner methodologischen Begründung und seiner forschungspraktischen Umsetzung ein. Besonderes Augenmerk gilt den Prozeduren der Eröffnung und Beschließung sozialer Praxen, da sie laut Oevermann für die konkrete Füllung einer sozialen Praxis folgenreich und daher für die Analyse besonders aufschlussreich sind.

In den ersten Sitzungen soll auf der Basis von Texten zur Sequenzanalyse in der Objektiven Hermeneutik die methodologische Grundlegung erarbeitet werden. Den Schwerpunkt des Seminars bildet die praktische Einübung des Analyseverfahrens anhand von empirischem Material der Studierenden.
