The purpose of this course is to introduce students to different education systems and approaches to inclusion and provide an opportunity to compare them. Students learn to carry out small comparisons of their own and to think in terms of the roles, functions, and outcomes of individuals in selected school systems in comparative terms. One of the problems we tackle is understanding culture from a philosophical and theoretical perspective in the context of education and multiculturalism. How culture and cross-culture affect our educational system.
For this purpose, we mainly use English-language materials, the European Agency for Special Needs and Inclu-sive Education databases, and the UNESCO National Education System databases.
