Im Rahmen des Seminars erfolgt eine Einführung in klinisch-neurowissenschaftliches Arbeiten und neuropsychologische Störungsbilder als Folge von ZNS-Erkrankungen und -Schädigungen. Es wird ein Überblick über z.B. Gedächtnisstörungen oder Neglect gegeben. Die Studierenden sollen einen Einblick in neuroanatomische Korrelate, ätiologischen Modelle, Verläufe und Behandlungsmöglichkeiten von typischen Störungen erhalten.

Das Seminar richtet sich an Studierende des ersten Semesters des MSc-Studiengangs Psychologie. Die Veranstaltung gehört primär zum Masterstudiengang "Experimentelle Psychologie und Neruowissenschaft" sowie zum N-Modul (N.1) des auslaufenden polyvalenten Masterstudiengangs. Übrige Plätze können an Studierende der Masterstudiengangs "Psychotherapie" im Rahmen des Moduls wissenschaftliche Vertiefung vergeben werden. Voraussetzung ist die Zulassung zu einem der genannten Master-Studiengänge Psychologie. Empfohlen sind Vorkenntnisse in biologischer Psychologie und kognitiver Neurowissenschaft.

Jede Sitzung beinhaltet eine kleine praktische Übung. Für die aktive Teilnahme sollten am Ende mindestens ¾ aller gestellten Aufgaben bearbeitet worden sein. Für den Erwerb von Leistungspunkten sollte ein kurzes Referat gehalten sowie eine kurze schriftliche Ausarbeitung angefertigt werden. Die Modulprüfung kann in Form einer Hausarbeit abgelegt werden
