270169 Interpersonal relationships, human-robot interaction, and well- being (BS) (WiSe 2013/2014)

Contents, comment

The goal of this course is to critically review social psychological researches related to the self and others, interpersonal relationships, human-robot interaction, and well-being. We will start to consider the concept of the self, others and interpersonal relationships. Then, the focus will be shifted to relationships between humans and robots – a social and psychological phenomenon which becomes more prominent both in research and in everyday life where machines are deployed as partners and assistive technology. Thepsychological perspectives on the role of self,interpersonal, and human-machine relationships will be explored, with a particular focus on human well-being will be explored.
Session 1, 11.11.13: Organizational issues & introduction (2 hours)
Session 2, 13.11.13: Classic and contemporary concepts about the self and others
Session 3, 16.11.13: Developing and maintenance of close interpersonal
relationships
Session 4, 20.11.13: Human-robot interaction
Session 5, 23.11.13: Human well-being in relation to other humans and robots.

Requirements for participation, required level

Es handelt sich um ein Blockseminar, das in englischer Sprache abgehalten wird.
Um die im Seminar zu bearbeitenden englischsprachigen Texte adäquat vorbereiten und diskutieren zu können sind Englischkenntnisse erforderlich.
Teilnehmerbegrenzung auf 30 TeilnehmerInnen. Anmeldung bitte per Email an das Sekretariat der AE „Gender and Emotion in Cognitive Interaction“, Frau Weitekemper, unter gweitekemper@cit-ec.uni-bielefeld.de.
