In der Lehrveranstaltung werden zunächst Begriffsbestimmungen aus der Antisemitismus- und Rassismusforschung vermittelt, um Theorie sowie historische und strukturelle Schnittmengen von Antisemitismus und verschiedener Formen von Rassismus wie auch deren Unterschiede zu erarbeiten. Auf dieser Grundlage erfolgt die Beschäftigung mit verschiedenen pädagogisch-didaktischen Ansätzen zur Auseinandersetzung mit Antisemitismus und Rassismus in der politischen Bildung. Leitend wird dabei die Frage sein, inwiefern eine Verknüpfung beider Gegenstandsbereiche möglich und sinnvoll ist. Daran anknüpfend werden Bedingungen, Möglichkeiten und Grenzen der politischen Bildung diskutiert. Inwiefern kann Bildung heute gegen Antisemitismus und Rassismus wirken? Und vor welchen Herausforderungen steht sie dabei?
