Im Zentrum der Veranstaltung stehen soziodemographische Daten aus 122 Ländern, die von der OECD erhoben wurden. Diese Daten sollen analysiert und interpretiert werden. Der Schwerpunkt liegt dabei auf statistischen Analyseprozeduren, in denen zwei Variablen gemeinsam untersucht werden, um ihre Zusammenhänge aufzudecken. Um die Berechnungen auch praktisch durchführen zu können, werden die Teilnehmer im Rahmen des Seminars eine Einführung in das statistischen Analysepaket SPSS erhalten.
Es werden sowohl die mathematisch-theoretischen Grundlagen als auch die konkreten Berechnungen mit Hilfe des Programmpaketes SPSS vorgestellt. Und selbstverständlich wird auch auf die Interpretation der Analyseergebnisse und ihre Darstellung in Wort und Bild eingegangen.
