237089 Humor in der Literatur des Mittelalters (S) (WiSe 2013/2014)

Der Begriff „Humor“ spielt in der gegenwärtigen Mediävistik keine große Rolle mehr. Wolfgang Preisendanz definiert ihn geradezu als „Ästhetische(n) Grundbegriff der Neuzeit, der alle Spielarten des Komischen aufbieten und integrieren kann“, was ihn für vormoderne Literatur ungeeignet erscheinen lässt. Diese Einschränkung soll in dem Seminar auf den Prüfstand gestellt werden, indem wir die Wort- und Begriffsgeschichte von „Humor“ verfolgen, die erwähnten „Spielarten des Komischen“ in Rhetorik und Poetik untersuchen und an ausgewählten literarischen Werken des Mittelalters und der Frühen Neuzeit überprüfen, wie (und wozu) die Lesenden zum Lachen gebracht werden.
