231225 Um 1800: Die Idylle. Gattungspoetik und -praxis zwischen Aufklärung, Sturm und Drang und Klassik (S) (WiSe 2013/2014)

Die Idylle ist eine mittlerweile fast vergessene Gattung. Das war im 18. Jahrhundert ganz anders. Mit dem Erfolg des Schweizer Idyllenautors Salomon Geßner kehrt die Idylle in ganz Europa zurück und erlebt eine ungeahnte Reanissance. Begleitet wird der publizistische Erfolg von einer inentsiven Gattungsdiskussion, die noch tief verwurzelt in der "Querelles des Anciens et des Modernes" heftig geführt wird. In Folge dieser Diskussion kommt es zu tiefgreifenden Veränderungen innerhalb der Gattung, für die der Sturm und Drang und später die Klassik eine wichtige Rolle spielt. Im Seminar werden wir einerseits die europäische Gattungsdiskussion verfolgen, andererseits uns aber viele Idyllen anschauen und sie auf den literaturgeschichtlichen Wandel im Laufe des 18. Jahrhunderts befragen.
