Moderne Gesellschaften verteilen Rechte und Pflichten, Bildung und Berufschancen, Einkommen, Macht und Sicherheit. Weil die gesellschaftlichen Institutionen unsere Glückaussichten beeinflussen und unser Leben entscheidend prägen, ist es uns nicht gleichgültig, wie die Gesellschaft institutionell organisiert ist und ob die Verteilungsregeln gerecht sind. Im Fokus des Seminars stehen die ethischen Grundlagen, die wesentlichen Erscheinungsformen, die gegenwärtigen Probleme und die Zukunftsaussichten des Wohlfahrtsstaates. Die Erarbeitung der Themen soll durch die gemeinsame Lektüre und Diskussion einschlägiger Texte erfolgen.
Eine Leistungsbescheinigung (BA-Studiengang) wird ausgestellt für zwei kürzere Arbeiten.
Ein Leistungsnachweis (Magister- oder Lehramts-Studiengang) wird ausgestellt für eine Hausarbeit.

BA-Studiengang: Abschluss des ersten Studienjahres.
Magister- oder Lehramts-Studiengang: Abschluss des Grundstudiums.
