Das Seminar widmet sich einer gattungsübergreifenden Untersuchung der Themen und Motive der Bukolik. Besondere Aufmerksamkeit gilt dabei spanischsprachigen Texten des 16. und des 17. Jahrhunderts. Exemplarisch besprochen werden u.a. Texte von Garcilaso de la Vega, Juan Boscán, Luis de Góngora, Jorge de Montemayor und Miguel de Cervantes. Es soll versucht werden, die beständigen aber durchaus wandelbaren Anwendungen des Bukolischen historisch und systematisch zu begreifen. Hierzu gehört auch die Lektüre theoretischer und programmatischer Schriften aus anderen Epochen und anderen sprachlich-kulturellen Kontexten.
