Das Störungsbild des Hemi-Neglect tritt zumeist nach rechtsseitigen Schädigungen des parietalen Cortex (z.B. nach Schlaganfällen) auf und ist gekennzeichnet durch eine Nichtbeachtung von Reizen in der linken Raumhälfte in unterschiedlichen Sinnesmodalitäten. Obwohl die Patienten prinzipiell in der Lage sind, Stimuli auf der linken Seite wahrzunehmen, bearbeiten sie sie typischerweise nicht bewußt.
In diesem Seminar wird das Störungsbild aus neurokognitiver Sicht betrachtet. Es werden dabei erstens aktuelle Erklärungsmodelle der Störung behandelt. Zweitens soll aufgezeigt werden, welchen Beitrag Untersuchtungen an Patienten mit dieser Störung der selektiven Aufmerksamkeit leisten können für die neurokognitive Forschung im Bereich der Wahrnehmung und Aufmerksamkeit.

Das Seminar „Räumlicher Hemi-Neglect aus neurokognitiver Sicht“ richtet sich an BSc Kernfach-Studierende, die das Anwendungsfach „Neurowissenschaften“ gewählt haben. Kenntnisse der wesentlichen Inhalte der Vorlesungen X.1 (Einführung in die Neuropsychologie) und X.2 (Einführung in die Neurokognitive Psychologie) werden vorausgesetzt.
