Este seminario busca ofrecer una mirada amplia sobre la sociedad colombiana actual, sus problemas y características, sin olvidar cómo ha llegado a ser lo que es. El seminario se centra en diferentes aspectos de la Colombia contemporánea: desde luego se considera el tema violencia y narcotráfico, pero también otros como educación y cultura, relaciones de género, jóvenes y formas de entretenimiento, etc.
Otro de los objetivos del seminario es que a través de la reflexión sobre una sociedad “extranjera”, los estudiantes puedan pensar también en su propia sociedad e identidad. Las formas de trabajo consistirán en exposiciones y discusiones a cargo del docente y de los estudiantes sobre cada uno de los temas seleccionados.
