In diesem Seminar beschäftigen wir uns mit der Frage danach, was ein "Coming Out" für das Individuum und sein Umfeld bedeutet und wie Menschen in diesen Prozessen professionell begleitet werden können. Das Seminar ist thematisch in drei Teile gegliedert. Wir werden neben zahlreichen theoretischen Diskussionen auch praxisnahe Fälle bearbeiten und durch praktische Übungen einen Bezug zum Arbeitsfeld herstellen.
Erster Teil: Was bedeutet Coming Out?

Wir schauen uns mit kritischem Blick die gesellschaftlichen Geschlechterverhältnisse an, gehen auf die soziale Konstruktion von sex und gender ein und beschäftigen uns mit der Funktion und der Aufrechterhaltung von Othering-Prozessen in Bezug auf geschlechtliche Vielfalt.
Zweiter Teil: Psychopathologisierung

Im zweiten Teil des Seminars fokussieren wir uns auf die kritische Analyse und Reflexion der Psychopathologisierungsprozesse von lesbischen, schwulen, bisexuellen, trans* und inter*-Lebensweisen im DSM 5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) und im ICD 10 bzw. ICD 11 (International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems). Die Auswirkungen der Pathologisierungsprozesse werden ebenfalls, unter dem Aspekt der gelingenden Begleitung von Menschen im Coming-Out, analysiert.
Dritter Teil: Haltung und Position

Im letzten Teil des Seminars gehen wir der Frage nach, was eine gelingende, professionelle Begleitung von Menschen im Coming-Out kennzeichnet und welche Bedingungen daran geknüpft sind. Wir bedienen uns dabei an den zentralen Aspekten der personzentrierten Beratung nach Carl Rogers.
